Ayla Tavares holds a Master’s degree in Visual Arts from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ) and specializes in ceramic production and archeology. In her works, Tavares investigates archeological and sacred artefacts, architecture and daily objects, establishing relationships between different layers of time to reflect about daily life, memory and shared life. Comprehending materiality in all its complexities, Tavares creates constellations of objects under other orders, generating from these new bodies relationships of estrangement, speculation and narrative.
