Daniel Feingold graduated in Architecture and Urbanism from Faculdades Integradas Silva e Souza, in Rio de Janeiro, in 1983. He attended several courses among them, Art and Painting Theory at Parque Lage’s School of Visual Arts, in Rio de Janeiro (1989 – 1990), and the “Núcleo de Aprofundamento”, one year program in the painting studio of the same school (1991). In 1993, he was granted a scholarship by the Brazilian Government to pursue his master’s degree at the Pratt Institute, in New York.
Feingold carried out many solo shows, such as Espaço empenado, at Paço Imperial (Rio de Janeiro, 2002), Pintura, at Centro Universitário Maria Antonia (São Paulo, 2003), and at Galeria Raquel Arnaud in 1996, 1999, 2002, 2006 and 2014. In 2011, he exhibited his works individually at Atelier Sidnei Tendler, in Brussels, Belgium. More recently, in 2013, there was a great solo show, Acaso controlado, at Museu de Arte Moderna do Rio de Janeiro.
He also participated in group exhibitions, such as the 15th Salão Carioca and the 17th Salão Nacional de Artes Plásticas (Rio de Janeiro, 1991), being awarded the first prize in both of them; Crossings Lines – Art in General, in New York; Gestural Drawings, at Neuhoff Gallery (New York, 2000), and the 5th Mercosul Biennial (Porto Alegre, 2005); Arte Brasileira e depois na Coleção Itaú, at Paço Imperial (Rio de Janeiro, 2011); Afinidades, at Instituto Tomie Ohtake (São Paulo, 2014);
In 2014, Daniel Feingold exhibited his work individually at Galeria Raquel Arnaud, with curatorship of the American critic Robert C. Morgan.
In 2016, Feingold carried out, for the first time, a solo show exhibiting exclusively photographic series at Paço Imperial do Rio de Janeiro. The exhibition Fotografia em 3 séries is composed of: Station of the Cross, 2009, the series Yahweh at Reina Sofia, 2012 and Homage to Corot, 2011.
In 2016/2017, the Museu Vale hosted Acaso Controlado, which incorporated the artist’s recent works and two documental videos by the filmmaker Diogo Lisboa.
Feingold’s works are part of important private collections and institutions, like the Gilberto Chateaubriand Collection, Itaú Cultural and others.
